Hi! My name is Carys Kuo, and I am a third-year NPB major and East Asian Studies minor! I was born in Taiwan, but raised in Canada and America -- a life experience that led me to appreciate international and intercultural diversity, as I've grown up in communities both similar and dissimilar to me. Aside from the places I grew to know and love throughout my childhood, I love traveling internationally and seeing the way other countries have flourished in contrast to those that I know. I think that participating in a study abroad program encourages the idea of branching out, finding an appreciation for cultures both familiar and unfamiliar, and discovering personal pursuits and interests in the process. To me, these are all valuable life experiences that aren't only enjoyable, but also eye-opening for many! I hope that in the time I spend working in the Global Learning Hub, I'm able to encourage such sentiments about global learning experiences to my peers too.
