UC Davis Study Abroad Photo Contest

The annual UC Davis Study Abroad Photo Contest aims to recognize and celebrate student photography taking place on the many study abroad programs offered throughout the year. While the deadline to submit photos is in early fall quarter, we encourage students to submit their favorite photos on a rolling basis as programs conclude. Detailed instructions, guidelines and eligibility.

Gilman International Scholarship Program

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for Federal Pell Grant recipients to participate in study abroad and internship programs throughout the world. Learn about the aims of the Gilman Scholarship, eligibility requirements, the application process and how to become a competitive candidate (Info Session: August 30).

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

This program offers annual awards for U.S. citizens who will have bachelor’s degrees by the 2024-25 academic year to conduct research, study or teach English in over 140 countries worldwide. Learn more about eligibility, timeline and requirements.

Global Leadership, Internships, and Research

International House Davis: Language Learning Groups

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Join International House Davis for in-person and virtual classes. Check the schedule and sign-up for intermediate-to-advanced language conversation sessions in French, English, Portuguese and German or World Dance Club classes. Register.

International House Davis: English Practice Partners Volunteer Opportunity

Volunteer with the International House Davis English Practice Partner Program where you will be paired with international visitors within our community. Join for about an hour a week of English conversation practice either via Zoom or in public places. No English teaching experience necessary. Complete the Volunteer Form.

United Nations (UN) Academic Impact Internships

Join the Education Outreach Section in supporting and contributing to the UN goals and mandates, including the promotion and protection of human rights, access to education, sustainability and conflict resolution. Internships can be remote, hybrid or in-person at UN Headquarters in New York for four-six months. Deadline: August 13. Apply.

Practice Spanish Through the Talk2Me Program

September 5 – October 27. Join the Talk2Me Program to practice English and Spanish through conversation. Participants need sufficient knowledge of their partner’s language to participate actively. Partners will meet once a week (virtually) for a minimum of one hour. Deadline: August 25. Register.

UC Davis Washington Program—Winter 2024

The Washington Program offers eligible undergraduate students an exciting opportunity to combine their coursework with an unparalleled internship experience while exploring our nation's capital for a quarter. Students can apply for an internship in any field. There are many global opportunities in D.C.! Deadline: September 18. Apply.

International Rescue Committee (IRC) Sacramento Fall 2023 Internship

IRC is offering fully remote and hybrid internship placements available to current and recently graduated undergraduate and graduate students. Program placement opportunities are offered across a wide range of areas including refugee resettlement, youth education, health and wellness, women’s empowerment and more. Apply.

Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Internship

Aggie Job Fair (Virtual)

August 16, 10–2 p.m., virtual. UC Davis departments are hiring students for a wide variety of positions offering competitive wages. Students can apply now through Handshake for jobs that are currently posted. To attend the job fair, make sure you have a Handshake account with an updated profile. Global Affairs is currently hiring for two student positions: Photographer/Videographer (#7927904) and Social Media Assistant (#8042594).

Navigating Reentry: Unpacking Your Experiences Abroad

August 24,5–6:30 p.m., virtual. In this interactive workshop, we will discuss reentry experiences, and identify resources and tools to unpack experiences from abroad so that you can articulate the skills you’ve gained to different audiences, including future employers. This workshop is applicable to all students returning from different types of programs abroad. Deadline: August 21. Register.

University Global Coalition Annual Gathering (UGC)

October 2–6, virtual. UGC will host a global, virtual version of 17 Rooms, a process developed by The Brookings Institution and The Rockefeller Foundation. In 17 Rooms, participants select one of 17 groups representing each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Rooms will work to determine a deliverable from their discussion that can be presented during SDG Action and Awareness Week. Register.

Global Student Leadership Summit

October 31–November 3. The Global Student Leadership Summit (GSLS) registration is now open. GSLS will be held in Chicago, IL. It is the premier leadership conference for students interested in further developing skills related to global diversity, equity and inclusion. Register.
